Workbook: Introduction to organic principles
The Best Practice Approach
The organic principles are the foundation for our organic practice and whilst it's true that there are some clear dos and don'ts to follow, an effective way to help you level up your practices within each principle is to use a 'best practice' approach. This method will help you to consider your current methods, growing space and local environment and identify ways in which you can adopt increasingly sustainable organic practices over time.
Scroll through the slides below to explore some examples.
While it may not be feasible to achieve best organic practice in every area of your growing, particularly when growing at a larger scale or where specific resources are challenging to obtain locally, the active process of making considered sustainable decisions is key to ensuring we are always seeking opportunities to improve and work increasingly in harmony with the natural environment around us.
Throughout this course you will see best practice tips. Use these opportunities to reflect on your current practices and to identify areas that you can move up the scale as you develop your own organic space and add to your knowledge.
