3. Encouraging biodiversity | 15 mins

In this section we have looked at the benefits of encouraging biodiversity in your growing space, particularly in helping to manage garden pests and diseases. Maintaining a healthy soil and providing food and shelter for a variety of species are all effective and easy ways to encourage wildlife into your space, many of which are valuable allies in our growing spaces and the environment in general. 

• Encourage biodiversity to minimise garden pests and diseases.
• Create habitats by leaving relaxed areas, adding a pond and maintaining healthy soil. 
• Become familiar with the wildlife in your space and the benefits it brings.
