Feeding peat free compost

Many peat based composts contain artificial slow-release fertilisers, which will often feed plants for around 6 weeks.

An organic peat free compost will contain naturally-sourced added organic nutrients, but these tend to run out slightly more quickly after around 4 weeks. Therefore it is normally necessary to water weekly with a liquid organic feed.
